UTI
UTIs are still one of the most commonly diagnosed illnesses in older adults and the #1 reason antibiotics are prescribed in Long Term Care Facilities.
However, more and more UTI Treatments are being comprised due to the development of MDRO’s (MultiDrug Resistant Organisms). What does this mean for patients? Doctors can no longer assume first or second rounds of antibiotics will adequately treat the most common infections or their reoccurrence. Furthermore, advanced diagnostics will be needed to rapidly and accurately identify affected pathogens and rule out the presence of antibiotic resistance.
